What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. We also use browser storage (localStorage), which works in a similar way but is not sent to our servers with each request. Together we refer to these as cookies below.

Essential cookies (always active)

These are required for the site to work and cannot be switched off. They do not track you across other websites.

Sign-in session (Supabase auth cookies): keeps you signed in to your account. Removed when you sign out or the session expires.

Security and bot protection (Cloudflare, e.g. __cf_bm): distinguishes genuine visitors from automated traffic. Short-lived.

Your choices: your cookie-consent decision and your age/research-use confirmation are stored in your browser so we do not ask on every visit.

Shopping cart, applied codes and theme preference: stored in your browser so your cart and light/dark setting persist between pages.

Referral attribution (pl_ref): if you arrive through a referral link, a cookie records the referral code for 90 days so the referrer can be credited if you order. It contains only the code.

Analytics and advertising cookies (only with your consent)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used (pages visited, general location, device type) and Google Ads conversion measurement to learn whether an order followed one of our advertisements. These set cookies such as _ga, _ga_* and _gcl_*.

Both run through Google Consent Mode. Until you choose "Accept all" in the cookie banner, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and Google receives only anonymous, cookieless signals. If you choose "Essential only", they stay off.

Google may process this data on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. See Google's privacy policy for how it handles data.

Third-party content

Blog article images are served from our blog platform's storage (Soro). Loading an image reveals your IP address to that provider in the same way as any image on the internet; it does not set tracking cookies.

Sign in with Google, if you use it, is provided by Google and subject to Google's terms and privacy policy.

We do not use social-media tracking pixels or third-party advertising networks on this site.

Managing your choices

You can accept or decline non-essential cookies in the banner shown on your first visit, and change your decision at any time using "Cookie settings" in the site footer.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the site (such as signing in or the cart) from working.

To opt out of Google Analytics across all websites, Google provides a browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
